Increasing Fertility Naturally: Part 2

couple struggling with infertilityTo some people getting pregnant seems too easy however there are plenty of people who struggle with infertility and aren’t sure what to do. This week I wanted to give everyone some tips that can help increase fertility naturally. As I said in part 1 make sure you visit your doctor if you haven’t been able to get pregnant to have some basic testing done because it might be something simple. In part 1 I focused on your diet, many people don’t really think about it but what you eat can really help or hurt you get pregnant. Today I will talk about things you can do physically to help increase your chances of getting pregnant.


5. Try Yoga or Pilates

However if you are a frequent hard core exerciser you may notice that your menstrual period is hit and miss. The reason you may have longer times in between periods is because you don’t have enough body fat. If you aren’t menstruating obviously you won’t get pregnant, so the key is exercising but not so much that you don’t have enough body fat. Exercising is great for your body and can be for your fertility. Try doing yoga or Pilates. The combination of movements and relaxation can help you relieve stress and even help you with your  monthly cycle.

6. Reduce Stress

reducing stressTrying to get pregnant can be extremely stressful especially if you aren’t able to get pregnant fast. Stress can hurt your chances of fertility because your body may think you aren’t able to handle a newborn child. According to WebMD a study was done that at the University of California at San Diego that stress may hurt your chances of getting pregnant. They found that women who were stressed had ovulated 20% fewer eggs compared with women who were less stressed. Moreover, of those who were able to produce eggs, those who were most stressed were 20% less likely to achieve fertilization success.

There are a few great ways to help reduce stress. You may want to talk to a therapist about being pregnant. Some women worry if they will be a good mom, or if the baby will be healthy, among other things which can cause lots of stress. Talking it out might be a great step in reducing stress. You could also go to a massage therapist. There have been no conclusive studies that show that getting a massage will increase fertility but there have been studies that show they do reduce stress and can help reduce stress levels which will help you get pregnant. Work may also be a big stress for some women. It may be time to reduce hours or your work load to help out with you getting pregnant.

7. Acupuncture

There is some great news however; acupuncture has been shown to help increase rates of conception. Acupuncture can be performed on both men and women to help conception. For women acupuncture can help improve the thickness of the uterine linings and stimulate ovulation, it can also help the quality of her eggs. Men were shown to have an increase of sperm production and quality of sperm when they had acupuncture done.

Acupuncture works by addressing and redistributing the body’s energy. It helps unblock problem areas and repair organs that are malfunctioning and restores them to their proper balance.

Understanding what your body needs to function can help increase your chance to get pregnant. Keeping your body healthy is a vital part of having a healthy baby. Combining a healthy diet with properly taking care of your body will greatly increase fertility.
