Korean Beef
Categories: Easy Dinner Ideas, Recipes
Having a baby and preparing dinner can feel like an impossible task so we are here to help. Each week we will share a recipe or two that is simple and tasty for your family. We here at BabyStepz would love to have you send in some of your favorite recipes so we can share them with our other readers (who knows maybe we can even get enough to make a cookbook).
This weeks recipe is Korean Beef. This super simple recipe is easy, tastes good, and is very quick to make. I got this recipe off of Pintrest from http://elizabethbryant.blogspot.com. It was great because I had some left over ground beef I needed to use and ground beef is a lot cheaper than the traditional flank steak that is used in most Korean Beef recipes.
Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 - 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (or I used ginger garlic paste)
1/2 – 1 teaspoon crushed red peppers
salt and pepper
1 bunch green onions, diced
Directions:
First brown the beef in sesame oil and garlic in a large skillet. While the beef is browning combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic ginger, crushed red pepper, and salt and pepper in another bowl. If you used a higher fat ground beef drain the excess fat then combine the ingredients in the skillet and let them simmer. Serve the beef over rice and top with green onions.
As a side note I did not think it had enough liquid, so next time I would add a bit more soy sauce to the recipe.
